The Nigerian rape suspects in India
According to reports, the rape victim, who hails from Manipur is a student of Punjab University, and had gone to Delhi for vacation, and was staying with her brother in the Vasant Kunj Kishangarh area. Her brother, who works many hours, lives along with two other male friends, and he wasn’t too comfortable with leaving her alone while he was away at work. As a result, he made arrangements for her to stay with one of his female friends from Manipur.
The female friend had two
roommates named Sorokhaibam Shila Devi, 32, and Priya Thapa, 34, who reportedly took the victim to a party, and afterwards, told her they wanted to take her shopping.
However, at night, they are said to have lured her into a house where three Nigerian men lived.
The men are said to have raped her after long physical harassment. The victim also revealed that she managed to escape from the location and contacted her brother. They reported the incident to the Uttam Nagar police station, and the men were subsequently arrested. One of them has been identified as Nwachorudo Charles Echejohn, who is 33 years old.
