Everyone has had a difficult time falling asleep at one point or another, but it becomes a problem when it happens frequently. A lack of sleep can cause difficulty in concentration and problem solving, emotional imbalances, lowered immunity, and serious health issues like stroke, high blood pressure, and heart disease. If you’re having difficulty sleeping, try out these 4 powerful tools plus the guided sleep meditation video at the bottom of this article that can help you fall asleep within minutes:
Isochronic Tones
Isochronic tones help us induce a certain mental state relatively quickly. When you listen to isochronic tones in your headphones, a specific tone at a specific frequency is played over and over again (often under music) so that eventually, your own brainwaves will slow down to mimic the same frequency as the tones. For example, 4hz is the brainwave pattern that is associated with sleep. So if you want to sleep, you would listen to a track with embedded isochronic tones that are at 4hz or less.
Next time you’re having a difficult time sleeping, check out the guided meditation that’s included in the video below. It’s embedded with isochronic tones that are 4hz and lower to help you fall asleep quickly.
Magnesium
Some symptoms of magnesium deficiency are:
– Insomnia
– Chronic fatigue
– Muscle stiffness
– Depression
– Muscle cramps
– Behavioural disturbances
Adding extra magnesium through magnesium-rich foods or supplementing is a great way to help you sleep better at night.
Essential Oils
Some essential oils that I find helpful for sleep are:
Lavender/eucalyptus (for those who cannot fall asleep because of pain/physical discomfort/ nasal congestion or difficulty breathing)
Lavender/Chamomile (for those who cannot fall asleep because of intense emotions like anxiety/depression)
Bergamot (for those who cannot fall asleep because of mental chatter)
Meditation
Meditation is an extremely useful tool, as it targets many of the main problems people face when they cannot fall asleep. It helps calm the mind, balance the mood, promote feelings of well-being, and relax the body. There are hundreds of studies proving just how beneficial meditation is for both mind and spirit.
