A birthday party got bloody in San Jose, California when someone started to fire gunshots sporadically at fans while Chris Brown was on stage.
The mayhem which left about five people wounded by gunshots broke out in the venue, and the police arrived the shooting scene to figure out what happened.
Brown was on stage at the fiesta night club on Saturday, January 10, 2015, performing one of his new hit songs “Loyal” at the time of the shooting. The 25-year old stopped performing in the club when he heard the shooting inside the building.
According to reports, Brown was taken off stage and rushed away after the shooting took place as the party was immediately halted to a close.
Brown was reported to have taken the crisis as minor argument, having been quoted as saying “Oh, them n**gaz is getting it in over there.”
But he wasn’t smiling anymore when he heard sporadic gunshots all over the place. That was when he knew it was time to leave.
No report of death was stated at the time of report, but the police have stated that the matter shall be duly investigated to ascertain the culprits and their intentions.
An unnamed witness at the concert was reported to have stated “Thank goodness that no one was killed, but maybe we have to start talking about why these guns keep showing up at our concerts in the first place.
“A lot of lives are at risk in these situations,” he said.
But other sources said Responding San Jose Police officers found four victims of gunshot wounds inside the club at about 1:20 a.m.
Those victims were taken to a local hospital, and a fifth person suffering from a gunshot wound walked into the hospital, police said.
Brown, who was not injured in the incident, had made an appearance at the nightclub in the 3800 block of Monterey Road for a VIP birthday event.
Police said they have detained several people as part of the investigation.
