Before the intervention of
O.B.J into our telecommunication industry,
I could remember that when you hear the word
"Telephone", what comes
to mind is either a white or black colored not really flat panel
box with buttons ranging from 1 to 9 and the famous signs
which were the
* and # sign embedded on it and a curled lengthy wire at the
tail
which as a kid i couldn’t stop playing with. But this same above explained
telephone also known as the intercom telephone is what we
see in most
organizations, hotels
and even filling stations in Nigeria today.
I never thought of seeing a wireless phone to make calls, to
send a message, to
watch short and long video clips or listen to music, play
games, pay bills,
and book for flights on the go, your Bible and Quran for quick
studying, and
so much more. In today’s
world, we've got Mobile/Smart phones, Notes and
tablets to carry out what you never expected 20 years ago.
Getting one of these gadgets is very necessary but you've
got to take some
things into consideration in order for you to make the right
choice of mobile/
smart phone that best fits your needs.
1. WHAT YOU WANT TO
USE IT FOR?
Just to make calls and send text messages? Or for taking pictures? Or for
Surfing the web disturbing social medias?
You've got focus on what u want to use it for to save
yourself the cash of
getting a phone with
features you never have time for or getting "chinko"
with hopes of Instagraming.
2. THE BATTERY LIFE.
Unlike the Nokia 3310 which can last up to 5 days if charged
full, today's
smart phones are built with wider screens, and processors
such as the
dual core and quad core processors making these smart phones
energy
hungry.
So its better you remember that the wider and brighter the
display, the more
your gadget craves for more power and also, checking the
battery's capacity
would be of great help.
3. STORAGE.
This is another factor to consider while making the choice
of mobile phone
u want to opt for. You
take pictures a lot or you a music freak like i am or you
can’t do without having at least 3 different 3D games on
your smart phone,
then paddy you need to go for a phone with not just a large
memory like the
iPhone but smart
phone with an expandable memory.
4. CAMERA.
For all the Instagram, Tweet pic, Pinterest and selfie fans
in general this is for
you.
If u are so addicted to the above social media and the
selfie habit, then you
should look out for specs such as the quality of the lens
and also the camera
sensor.
I know you would thinking that the more higher the
megapixels, the better
your picture quality (Laughs) but know this, you can get a
sharper image quality
from a 5 megapixel camera than from an 8 megapixel camera
due to the lens
quality.
5. SIZE.
There different sizes of mobile/smart phones today. I’m sure you don’t want to
get a phone which you won’t be flexible with all because you
were carried
away by its beauty and enticing wide screen. so here are
some tips on screen
sizes.
4.5 inches below
are normal pocket size phones such as d regular iPhone 4
4.5 inches - 5.1
inches are not really pocket friendly e.g. Htc One and Samsung
Galaxy S5.
5.1 inches above
are also known as phablets, Pads and Notes. they include
The iPad, Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung Galaxy Tab and so on.
Make a wise choice pals…..
