EX - PRESIDENT DEFIES COURT INJUCTION

Obasanjo defies court injunction, and releases autobiography, ‘My Watch’

Obasanjo's New Book Titled My Watch
Ex - President, Olusegun Obasanjo has defied a court order by going ahead to release his autobiography titled ‘My Watch’.
A Federal Capital Territory High Court in Wuse Zone II, Abuja, had on Friday last week, given an order restraining him from proceeding with the publishing of the book.
Justice Valentine Ashi ruled that part of the content of the three-volume book is related to the issue of the N20bn libel suit instituted by Kashamu against Obasanjo
The court restrained the former President from publishing the book, pending the determination of the libel suit instituted against him by a member of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State, Buruji Kashamu, who filed an ex parte application.
The content of the book was said to be related to a letter dated December 2, 2013, written by Obasanjo to President Goodluck Jonathan, claiming that Kashamu was wanted for drug-related crime in the United States of America.
Several copies of the book has reportedly gone into circulation with copies of the autobiography already available to buyers in print form.
An e-book version, which is beyond the jurisdiction of Nigerian courts, is expected to be out soon, while a formal launch of the publication would be held in Nigeria in a few days.
The book which details the life of the Obasanjo from birth till present day, painted President Goodluck Jonathan in a bad light.
The president was described as selfish, weak-willed and being unable of leading Nigeria, while also accusing him of surrounding himself with aides and political associates with corrupt tendencies.
